Peer Review Policy
Introduction
At Karsaz Journal of Applied Innovation in science & Engineering (KJAISE), all research articles and most other publication types undergo a stringent peer review process to guarantee the utmost levels of scholarly excellence. Every submission undergoes evaluation by a minimum of two independent experts possessing pertinent subject-matter experience, who appraise the manuscript's originality, scientific merit, methodological rigor, and overall contribution to the discipline. This thorough evaluation process allows KJAISE to disseminate research of outstanding quality, importance, and scholarly merit.
We greatly value the commitment and proficiency of our peer reviewers, whose constructive assessments are vital for upholding the journal's integrity, fostering academic quality, and furthering research across various fields. Their contributions are essential in enhancing scholarly communication and promoting the distribution of credible and significant scientific knowledge.
Peer Review Policy
In order to ensure the originality, validity, and scholarly significance of the research published in the journal, KJAISE is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic quality, scientific integrity, and ethical publishing through a rigorous and transparent peer review process.
All research articles, along with the majority of other manuscript types, go through a rigorous peer review process that involves the evaluation of at least two independent experts with relevant subject-matter expertise. Reviewers evaluate each submission for originality, methodological rigor, scientific quality, clarity, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge within its respective discipline.
Every manuscript is first evaluated by the Editorial Office to make sure it complies with the journal's submission procedures in keeping with the values and ethical standards set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics. After that, eligible manuscripts are given to an editor who oversees the review process and determines if they are suitable for external peer review. To guarantee a fair and impartial assessment, editorial responsibility is shifted to another competent member of the Editorial Board in cases where there may be a conflict of interest.
Peer reviewers are chosen based on their professional reputation, research experience, academic background, and lack of conflicts of interest. When selecting reviewers, KJAISE takes into account a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds, geographic locations, institutional affiliations, gender identities, and other pertinent viewpoints to promote fairness, impartiality, and diversity in the peer review process. Peer reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations of each manuscript's originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, significance, and overall contribution to the field. Their assessments help ensure that published research meets the journal's academic standards.
Reviewers are required to adhere to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and professional integrity throughout the peer review process. KJAISE highly values the expertise and dedication of its peer reviewers. Their constructive feedback supports editorial decisions and assists authors in improving the quality and impact of their manuscripts.
The journal is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and efficient peer review process that upholds the highest standards of research integrity and promotes excellence in scholarly publishing.
Peer Reviewer Selection
The selection of qualified peer reviewers is essential to maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of the publication process at KJAISE. When appointing reviewers, the journal considers several factors, including subject expertise, academic reputation, professional recommendations, potential conflicts of interest, previous reviewing experience, and overall performance. Preference is given to reviewers who consistently demonstrate thoroughness, objectivity, sound judgment, professionalism, and timely completion of reviews.
Editor Responsibilities:
- Editors are responsible for obtaining at least two independent peer review reports for manuscripts presenting primary research or secondary analyses. In exceptional cases, such as highly specialized or emerging research areas, securing two suitable reviewers may not be feasible. Under these circumstances, an editorial decision may be based on a single comprehensive review that satisfies the journal's quality standards.
- Peer review reports should be written in English and provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations of the manuscript, including its methodology, accuracy of findings, and validity of the conclusions. Editorial decisions should rely on well-reasoned reviews rather than brief comments lacking sufficient justification.
- Editors are responsible for verifying the identity and contact information of proposed reviewers, giving preference to institutional email addresses whenever available. Each manuscript should be evaluated by at least one reviewer who has not been recommended by the authors.
In exceptional situations where two independent reviewers cannot be secured, the Editor may serve as the second reviewer or make a decision based on one detailed review. In such cases, the Editor should possess appropriate subject expertise, provide a transparent and comprehensive evaluation, and ensure that the external reviewer is a senior researcher with recent publications in the relevant field.
Authors are encouraged to avoid recommending recent collaborators or colleagues from the same institution as reviewers. They may, however, suggest qualified reviewers in their cover letter. To verify reviewer identity and expertise, Editors may request institutional email addresses. All communications between Editors and reviewers remain confidential, and reviewers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation. The Editor's decision regarding reviewer selection is final, although reasonable requests for reviewer exclusion may be considered where appropriate.
Peer Reviewer Diversity
KJAISE is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the peer review process. Editors are encouraged to select reviewers from a wide range of geographical regions, institutions, academic backgrounds, and underrepresented groups. This approach broadens the range of perspectives and expertise applied during manuscript evaluation, strengthening the quality, fairness, and credibility of the review process. By fostering an inclusive and unbiased environment, KJAISE aims to uphold the highest standards of academic excellence, research integrity, and scholarly publishing.
